There shall be Work and Security!
All who work shall be free to form trade unions, to elect their officers and to make wage agreements with their employers;
Trade unions are a money making scam. The government should have one national trade union which will be representative of all the industrial and civil trades in South Africa at no cost to South Africans. There are over 3 million members of trade unions with an average of R20 to R100 membership fees per person. The trade unions earn up to R18 Million per month from members. Over R216 Million per annum. Where does that money go to?
The state shall recognise the right and duty of all to work, and to draw full unemployment benefits;
There is certain guidelines which needs to be followed. Currently people that resign may not claim unemployment. There are so many people resigning for personal and work related reasons. Some resign because of unbearable working conditions that they were forced to resign. Some people resign because of lack of promotion etc.
Men and women of all races shall receive equal pay for equal work;
We have no problem with this.
There shall be a forty-hour working week, a national minimum wage, paid annual leave, and sick leave for all workers and maternity leave on full pay for all working mothers;
We have no problem with this.
Miners, domestic workers, farm workers and civil servants shall have the same rights as all others who work;
We have no problem with this.
Child labour, compound labour, the tot system and contract labour shall be abolished.
What is compound Labour?
The way we understand it is.... “Labourers were isolated from the towns and camps in closed compounds, labour discipline was easier to enforce. Absenteeism declined, piece-work was introduced and liquor and women were forbidden. On black and white it seems that there is nothing wrong with this. But, in the old days laborer's wages were dropped because they didn’t need to go home and more wages should be paid for them to travel home. The managers of these compounds negotiated deals to the mines for a certain rate and paid the workers half the rate. Greed is always an issue.”
What is the tot system?
“The Tot System, also known as the Dop System (after the Afrikaans word 'dop' meaning an alcoholic drink), is a notorious truck system which was used in South African wine farms particularly in the Western Cape. Farm workers would receive payment in the form of money with a daily measure of cheap wine as a fringe benefit. This practice increased and exacerbated alcoholism among farm workers, which resulted in widespread social damage among communities, particularly the Cape Coloured community.
Although there have been reports that some farm workers still do receive partial payment in wine, the "tot" system has been largely eradicated. However, the legacy continues as alcoholism is still rife. A 2000 study of Foetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) in a community in the Western Cape Province shows that the “historical presence of the wine industry in the Western Cape and the drinking patterns that have developed have produced a high FAS rate.” Today some areas of the Western Cape have the highest incidence of FAS in the world. Although now paid in cash, many workers spend their wages on alcohol, often sold to them by the farmers, or from illegal shebeens in the area.”
What is contract labour?
Definition:
“Contract labour normally refers to workers who are hired for a specific task and a finite period. In Third World countries the term sometimes refers to a system whereby workers are hired by an intermediary—the labour contractor—who supplies them to the employer for a fee. Such workers are often bound to the contractor by a variety of mechanisms and their freedom of movement may thus be restricted.”
In other words it is a type of slavery. All these workers are hired as a permanent worker. The wages are minimal. In India this was a norm... “There is an increased incidence of deployment of contractual labour by company managements because resorting to this reduces labour costs. In India, contractual workers get only a quarter of what regular workers are paid. Hence, contractual labour is undoubtedly a major reason for the increasing labour unrest—even in Manesar where the riots and killing happened. This incident is not particular to Maruti because not only the private sector but even government departments and public sector undertakings have resorted to contractual labour. However, the reasons behind the incident at Manesar were many, including the fact that workers were not allowed to form a union of their choice.”
The Doors of Learning and Culture Shall be Opened!
The government shall discover, develop and encourage national talent for the enhancement of our cultural life;
We have no problem with this.
All the cultural treasures of mankind shall be open to all, by free exchange of books, ideas and contact with other lands;
We have no problem with this.
The aim of education shall be to teach the youth to love their people and their culture, to honour human brotherhood, liberty and peace;
Currently this is quoted out of context again. The people they (ANC) refer to are blacks only. Not including all other races in South Africa. Examples of this were the tearing down of numerous statues that celebrated the history of South Africa. With the good and the bad we are what we are because of our history. Instead of embracing it, they use it to fuel hatred and resentment.
Education shall be free, compulsory, universal and equal for all children; Higher education and technical training shall be opened to all by means of state allowances and scholarships awarded on the basis of merit;
This was and still is in the news. Please note the last section...” on the basis of merit” The ANC, out of context, said it is applicable to black people only. We believe that if a person during his or her school career has proven that they are hard workers and academically orientated, they should get full scholarship or allowances. It will be a waste of the tax payers money if they allocated to illiterate learners.
Adult illiteracy shall be ended by a mass state education plan;
We have no problem with this.
Teachers shall have all the rights of other citizens;
This should include all essential services.
The colour bar in cultural life, in sport and in education shall be abolished.
Well once again it is only for selective sports and to the advantage of ANC people. Soccer does not apply to this statement. Merits should always be applied to these decisions by the governing parties.
There shall be Houses, Security and Comfort!
All people shall have the right to live where they choose, be decently housed, and to bring up their families in comfort and security;
We have no problem with this however... it has to be safe to all who occupy the house they live in.
Unused housing space to be made available to the people;
Unless it is owned by anybody that has the title deed to that property, nobody can just move in without paying the owner for the housing or make arrangements.
Rent and prices shall be lowered, food plentiful and no-one shall go hungry;
Just for interest sake. The price of bread has increased by over 40% in the last year. Who controls the food prices? If nothing is said by the government then we suppose they have knowledge of it and that they support it.
A preventive health scheme shall be run by the state;
The current state of the health system is rife with corruption and inadequate training. South Africans go to government hospitals and get treated like second rate humans and die. This is unacceptable.
Free medical care and hospitalisation shall be provided for all, with special care for mothers and young children;
We wish this was true. But we are not there yet. After 22 years, what have they done?
Slums shall be demolished, and new suburbs built where all have transport, roads, lighting, playing fields, crèches and social centres;
We do agree, however... Slum dogs in the metropolitan areas are rife. People are exploited and treated with inhumane behaviour. Even in the townships this is happening on a great scale. 22 years...
The aged, the orphans, the disabled and the sick shall be cared for by the state;
Not happening but we do agree.
Rest, leisure and recreation shall be the right of all:
Everybody needs relaxation... we do agree!!
Fenced locations and ghettoes shall be abolished, and laws which break up families shall be repealed.
In a perfect world this would be ideal. It is not viable with the current spate of crime. Closed communities are there for safety and security reasons only. Free access is available but for law abiding citizens only.
There shall be Peace and Friendship!
South Africa shall be a fully independent state which respects the rights and sovereignty of all nations;
South Africa shall strive to maintain world peace and the settlement of all international disputes by negotiation - not war;
Peace and friendship amongst all our people shall be secured by upholding the equal rights, opportunities and status of all;
The people of the protectorates Basutoland, Bechuanaland and Swaziland shall be free to decide for themselves their own future;
The right of all peoples of Africa to independence and self-government shall be recognised, and shall be the basis of close co-operation.
Let all people who love their people and their country now say, as we say here:
THESE FREEDOMS WE WILL FIGHT FOR, SIDE BY SIDE, THROUGHOUT OUR LIVES, UNTIL WE HAVE WON OUR LIBERTY
We as the Noah Revolution will fight for these freedoms, side by side with whomever will fight and stand with us until death, until we have won OUR LIBERTY.
Welcome to the revolution.
